NO BUDGET FILM SCHOOL PRESENTS:
"The Art & Science of No-Budget Filmmaking"
Saturday & Sunday, February 28 & March 1, 2015 • 9:00am - 6:00pm
Raleigh Studios - Los Angeles, CA
"The absolute best class you can take on how to make your own low/no budget film. Seriously." - Signe Olynyk, Founder, Great American Pitchfest; Writer/Producer, Below Zero
Screenwriters, stop waiting for someone to option your script!
No Budget Film School presents its famed two-day micro-budget filmmaking class in Los Angeles Feb. 28 - March 1, 2015. Taught by producer Mark Stolaroff--former principal of IFC's Next Wave Films--No Budget Film School is designed for anyone who wants to take control of their career by making a feature with whatever resources they have available to them right now.
In this class, attendees will learn the rules of successful micro-budget production, whether the budget is $200,000 or $200. No-budget professionals will offer their first-hand knowledge of production, post production, marketing, and distribution. Clips from micro-budget films will illustrate specific tricks and state-of-the-art techniques used by the most resourceful filmmakers. These lessons will maximize limited resources and minimize critical errors that can doom otherwise worthy projects. Students will walk away with powerful ideas that they can use immediately, saving them time and money. These cutting edge techniques can NOT be found in a book, at film school, or in other film classes.
If you're through writing screenplays that nobody sees, this will be the most practical filmmaking course you will ever take!
Guest speakers include:
Peter Broderick (President, Paradigm Consulting). Considered one of the world's leading authorities on alternative distribution strategy, Peter will be giving an empowering presentation on Hybrid Distribution and Crowdfunding.
Ricky Fosheim (Director/Producer/DP). Fosheim's most recent feature, And Uneasy Lies The Mind, was the first feature film shot entirely on an iPhone. The no-budget film played in the 2014 SXSW Film Festival and was recently released by Gravitas.
Matt Radecki (Founder, Different By Design). An award-winning producer of films like Marwencol and TV Junkie, Matt is also the founder of indie-friendly post house Different By Design. He will go over post production on a "no" budget.
Blake Robbins (Actor, Writer, Director, Producer). A veteran actor and a former No Budget Film School student, Blake wrote, directed, produced and starred in his own no-budget feature, The Sublime And Beautiful, after attending No Budget Film School. The film premiered in Competition at the 2014 Slamdance Film Festival and went on to win several awards at festivals around the world. It was released recently by Candy Factory.
Matt Sobel (Writer/Director/Producer). Matt's first feature, Take Me To The River, just premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and was a hit at the festival. It stars Robin Weigert, Josh Hamilton, and Richard Schiff. He is an IFP Film Narrative Lab and Binger FilmLab fellow and was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film" in 2014.
