Jeffrey Howe's script Cover Crop takes Sci-Fi honors After winning the Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror category at this year's StoryPros Awards, Cover Crop was announced as a screenplay finalist at the inaugural GenreBlast Film Festival in Culpeper, VA. 
SANCTUARY BY SCOTT PTTOCK, A FINALIST IN THE STORYPROS AWARDS CONTEST Scott Pittock's Sanctuary, his horror/western about a family at odds with each other who must work together when a feral posse invades their home, placed as a finalist in the 9th Annual StoryPros Awards Screenplay Competition.  
"GLIMPSE" and "REDREAMERS" Advance to Semifinals at 2016 STORYPROS Both of Glenn Acosta's high concept scripts, Glimpse and Redreamers, advanced to the semifinals at StoryPros.  Redreamers' logline: When a car accident takes the life of his wife and son, a man turns to a dream technology so he can continue "living" his lost life through his dreams; but when he meets a new woman he must decide between fantasy and reality.  Glimpse's logline: A female District Attorney looks for the man she believes is her reincarnated lover to prevent the murder she saw forty years ago in a vision.

SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL - A rookie journalist finds herself in the middle of an epic battle between Angels and Demons after she discovers that Hell has infiltrated the White House and that Satan has possessed the President.  It’s up to her to save the human race from becoming Lucifer’s minions.

Holy Mackerel written by Glenda Ganis - multiple successes

Holy Mackerel is a Finalist in New Hope Film Festival - July 2014 and was accepted into DreamAgo Screenwriting Workshop in Sierre, Switzerland May 2014. Only 9 writers from around the world were accepted into this program sponsored by Plume & Pellicule. This script was also a Finalist in Script Pipeline Contest - August 2013 and won Second Place in Final Draft Big Break Screenplay Contest 2012,  won 3rd Place in Story Pros 2014 contest, Finalist in Creative World Awards 2014 and Semi-Finalist in 2015 Academy Nicholl Fellowship,   .

It's Been a Good Summer for Screenwriter Todd Sorrell

A flurry of distinctions have been handed out over the Summer to several of my scripts.  "Parousia" made the QF rounds of Storypros Awards, Creative World Awards, and then took 1st Place in the Horror Genre at the Summer Slam Film Festival where I also was honored as Best Feature Screenwriter of Festival. http://summerslamfilmfest.weebly.com/awards.html Three scripts were chosen as Official Selections/Finalists at the Summer Slam: "The Minstrel", "Silent Rescue" and "Parousia". http://summerslamfilmfest.weebly.com/official-selections.html   "The Minstrel" also made the Semifinals of Scriptwood Screenplay Competition.  "Parousia" then made the Finalist round of the Hollywood Screenplay Contest. 

Travis Opgenorth Dreams of Better Things with Chimera Travis Opgenorth's feature thriller, Chimera, finished 3rd in the 2014 Story Pros Awards Screenwriting Contest. The script placed in five of the six contests it was entered in with semi-finalist or quarter-finalist finishes in the Writemovies.com, PAGE Awards, Austin Film Festival, and Final Draft's Big Break contests. 
Michelle Daniel Wins StoryPros and Barcelona Int'l Film Fest

THE GREY WOLF by Michelle Daniel has been named the Grand Prize Winner of the 8th Annual StoryPros Awards Screenplay Contest. And to top it off with an even bigger cherry, Daniel's feature screenplay, DREAMWALKERS, was named The Grand Jury Prize Winner at the Barcelona International Film Festival.

THE CURSE BY LISA REILY ANNOUNCED AS QUARTER-FINALIST

The Curse by Lisa Reily was selected as a quarter-finalist in the 8th Annual StoryPros Awards Screenplay Contest 2015. It is based on the book The Curse of the Minotaur: A Tale of Ancient Greece by Tom Stone.

Tom Stone is an LA author, who lived in Greece for over twenty years. He has written numerous books about Greece, including The Summer of My Greek Taverna: A Memoir.

 

Steve Guettermann's Screenplay Wins 3rd Place at StoryPros

Steve Guettermann, freelance writer and adjunct professor at Montana State University, received a third place award from the 2014 StoryPros Screenplay Writing Contest. His script, a comedy titled, “Julius the Fifth,” is about a modern day warrior pope. It is being promoted to several Hollywood production companies. A sequel is in the works. The screenplay was also a finalist in the 2014 Hollywood Screenplay Contest.

 

The story was also adapted to a full novel and is available from Amazon.com titled, Julius V~Warrior Pope: Vengeance in Vegas.

Oberholtzer and Bruton's, DRAIN BABIES, A Semifinalist at StoryPros

Luke Oberholtzer and Chris Bruton's Drain Babies was an official finalist at StoryPros 7th Annual Awards Screenplay Contest in the Fantasy/Sci Fi/Horror category.

 

Rick Little is an 18-year-old virgin who accidentally creates a monster, made of his own semen. Setting out with his two best friends, Rick must destroy the monster before it attacks everyone and everything he has ever loved, including the girl of his dreams, Heather. Drain Babies mixes The Blob and 80’s B horror movies with the humor and camaraderie found in American Pie and The 40 Year Old Virgin.
