The 47th annual Nashville Film Festival is proud to open its call for entries for the 2016 contest. With over $90,000 in cash and prizes and potential exposure to celebrated industry executives and studios, the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition is an incredible opportunity for talented writers to get their scripts discovered.

NaFF names winners and runners-up in short and feature-length script categories, as well as 60 minute and 30 minute teleplay categories. In all, the contest awards in 23 categories, including a special category for Tennessee and young screenwriters. Winners and Runners-up are awarded at NaFF, April 14-23, 2016. All finalists win two Gold All Festival Laminates valued at $798 and semi-finalists win one Silver All Festival Laminate valued at $250.

As one of the oldest film festivals in North America at 47 years old, NaFF has developed great relationships with studios and industry insiders who can help writers get their scripts made.
In 2015, select top scripts were read by Tom Pollock’s Montecito Pictures, Blossom Films – Nicole Kidman’s Academy Award nominated production company, noted casting director Laray Mayfield, famed limit-breaking director/producer Harmony Korine, Rich Peluso – Senior Vice President of AFFIRM Films, the faith/family and inspirational label of Sony Picture Entertainment, Sycamore Pictures CEO Ben Nearn and more.
