Due to the unexpectedly high volume of submissions we received this year, we are sorry to inform you that we are excessively far behind in the judging process.  We apologize for this delay as we continue to work through your great submissions

 

A total of $12,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners this year.

The Grand Prize winner will receive $5,000 in cash, round trip travel, 2 VIP Passes and two-night hotel accommodations at the Vancouver Hilton. All screenplays from each genre and category will be eligible for consideration. 

The winners of the Short Film, Original Half Hour Teleplay, Original One Hour Teleplay and Feature Film categories will each receive $1,000 in cash, 2 VIP Passes and two-night hotel accommodations at the Vancouver Hilton for the 2016 Vancouver Filmworks Screenwriter Conference in Vancouver, WA. All screenplays from each genre will be eligible for consideration. 

The winners of the ACTION/ADVENTURE, COMEDY, CRIME/THRILLER, DRAMA, HORROR, SCIENCE FICTION/FANTASY genre will each receive $500 in cash, 2 VIP Passes and two-night hotel accommodations at the Vancouver Hilton for the 2016 Vancouver Filmworks Screenwriter Conference in Vancouver, WA. All screenplays from each category will be eligible for consideration.

The top three screenwriters in each category and genre will receive prize packages that include Conference Passes good for all workshops, seminars, and parties at the 2016 Vancouver Filmworks Screenwriter Conference in Vancouver, Washington.

The top three screenwriters in each category and genre will receive merchandise from the Vancouver Filmworks Gear Store (T-shirts, beanies, etc.).

The top three screenwriters in each category and genre will receive written recognition on the Vancouver Filmworks Screenplay Competition website.

The top three screenwriters in each category and genre will be included in the 2016 Vancouver Filmworks Screenwriter Conference program which is distributed to industry professionals in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and Vancouver year round.

The Grand Prize winner and top three screenwriters in each category and genre will be included in the 2016 Vancouver Filmworks Screenwriter Conference press release to Variety, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, The Oregonian and The Columbian.
