One Child Born won First Prize in 2016 DC Shorts Screenwriting Competition
Stuart Creque's Short script: 'One Child Born', won first prize at the DC Shorts Screenplay Competition. The six finalist scripts chosen by the festival were read before a live audience, and the audience voted to award first place to 'One Child Born', which is a tale of the Rwandan genocide.
Part of the prize is a cash award contingent on finishing the film in time for next year's DC Shorts Film Festival.
The DC Shorts Film Festival showcases one of the largest collection of short films in the USA. In 2016 out of over 1,300 entries from around the globe, their programmers selected 131 films that reflect the 33 nations they represented — bringing a world view to Washington, DC.
