JOHN ARVAI RECEIVES WINS FROM MULTIPLE SCRIPTS

John Arvai's Yard Of Bricks won a top 3 Honorable Mention in the Comedy category in the 2014-2015 Fresh Voices Screenwriting Competition and was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2014 Screencraft Comedy Screenwriting Contest. Yard Of Bricks is a comedy adventure in the vein of The Hangover meets Back To The Future set at the Indy 500. John's other script Christmas Scraps was selected as a Top 5 Finalist in the 2014 Holiday Screenplay Contest. Christmas Scraps is a present day family comedy about a music teacher who spars with a childhood bully while trying to save his district's music program from budget cuts.

JOHN ARVAI'S 'OFF THE HOOK' A SCREENCRAFT FAMILY-FRIENDLY SEMIFINALIST

John Arvai's animated adventure 'Off the Hook' has been selected as a Screencraft Family-friendly Semifinalist.

 

'Off the Hook' is written along the lines of 'Toy Story' meets 'Night At The Museum.'  Set in a world where a Christmas tree's star is actually a secret transmitter used by Santa to identify all of the active Christmas homes throughout the world, the story follows a "by the book" toy soldier who must lead a group of Christmas tree ornaments in a desperate race against time to find their missing star so Santa doesn't skip their house.

 

The screenplay has also been adapted into a fully illustrated family picture book.

JOHN ARVAI'S 'OFF THE HOOK' MAKES THE TRACKING BOARD LAUNCH PAD TOP 75

John Arvai's animated family adventure 'Off the Hook' has been selected as one of the top 75 features in the Tracking Board Launch Pad Competition.  This script is also currently a quarter-finalist in the Fresh Voices Screenplay Contest. 

 

The screenplay has previously received multiple honors including placing as a 2016 New York Screenplay Finalist, 2015 Screencraft Family-Friendly Semi-Finalst, and a 2016 Austin Film Festival 2nd rounder, among others.

JOHN ARVAI DEBUTS CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK, 'OFF THE HOOK'

John Arvai has adapted one of his animated family screenplays into a fully illustrated Children's picture book, titled 'Off the Hook: A Christmas Ornament Adventure'.


Set in a world where a Christmas tree's star is actually a secret transmitter used by Santa Claus to identify all the active Christmas homes throughout the world, the story follows two groups of ornaments from opposite sides of their tree who must learn to work together to find their missing star before Santa passes their family's house by!


The screenplay has received multiple honors including placing as a 2016 New York Screenplay Finalist, 2015 Screencraft Family-Friendly Semi-Finalst, and a 2016 Austin Film Festival 2nd rounder.


The book has received two 5-star reviews from ReadersFavorite.com and is currently available in paperback and Kindle format on Amazon.com.

JOHN ARVAI'S 'DO OR DIE' A FINAL DRAFT BIG BREAK FINALIST

John Arvai's action/thriller script 'Do Or Die' has been selected as one of the 2016 Final Draft Big Break Contest Finalist.

 

'Do Or Die' is written along the lines of 'Cliffhanger' and 'Die Hard' and follows a former pro hockey enforcer turned coach who is his son's only hope after his hockey team is taken hostage by unknown forces during a tournament in Russia.
