Giancarlo Fusi's Hell Hound Wins Southern California Screenplay Competition

The TV pilot script 'Hell Hound' is the Grand Prize Winner of the Southern California Screenplay Compettion. Even better than recieving a monetary award for the win, the contest's founder Theo Davies is getting the script into the hands of possible producers including one on the hit Netflix show Orange is the New Black.

 

'Hell Hound' is inspired by the life of iconic Bluesman Robert Johnson who was just a sharecropper during the Depression until, as legend has it, he sells his soul to the Devil at a Mississippi crossroads to become the greatest guitarist of all time. But his Fuastian pact unleashes a pair of vicious and rabid hellhounds that'll doggedly pursue him for the rest of his days.

Giancarlo Fusi's 'First of April' a Finalist in Find-the-Gem Script Contest

'First of April' reached the Finalist round of only 11 scripts in the Find-the-Gem Short Screenplay Competiton. In addition, it's still in competiton as a Finalist in the ReelRebels Entertainment Screenplay Contest where the winning script will produced by ReelRebels Entertainment of New York City. 

 

The script was also a Finalist in the Yes! Let's Make a Movie Film Fetival. In addition, it was a Semi-Finalist in the We Make Make Movies Short Film Challenge and a Quarter-Finalist in the the BlueCat Screenplay Competition where it placed in the top 5% from over 2,000 entries.

The short suspense script 'First of April' has reached the Finalist round in the ReelRebels Entertainment Screenplay Contest. The winning script will be announced soon and be produced by ReelRebels Entertainment for submission into film festivals and online markets later this year.

 

The script was also a Finalist in the Yes! Let's Make a Movie Film Festival and the Find-the-Gem Screenplay Competition. It was a Semi-Finalist in the We Make Make Movies Short Film Challenge and a Quarter-Finalist in the the BlueCat Screenplay Competition where it placed in the top 5% from over 2,000 entries.

Giancarlo Fusi's 'Hell Hound' Advances to Semi-Finals in Two Competitions

The TV pilot script 'Hell Hound' has reached the Semi-Finals round in the Milledgeville Film Festival. If selected as a Finalist, the script will be part of a special reading.

 

And 'Hell Hound' has also advanced to the Semi-Finals round of the American Gem Short Script and Literary Festival. It is now in the Top 78 scripts from 1,139 entries this year.

'Hell Hound' is also in competiton for the top award in the 12th annual American Gem Short Screenplay Competition where it has advanced to the quarterfinals from among 1,139 script entries this year.

'Hell to Pay' the short film script version of the multiple-award winning television pilot script 'Hell Hound' won the Best Short Screenplay Award at the Glendale International Film Festival. The script is also a Semi-Finalist in the Short Film Grants Competition & Awards. And it's an Official Selection of both the Cannes Latititude Film Festival & Script Contest and the Gullah Geechee Heritage Film Festival.

The short suspense thriller 'First of April' is a Finalist in Canada's Yes! Let's Make a Movie Film Festival. The script was also a Semi-Finalist in the We Make Make Movies Short Film Challenge where it recieved a staged reading by SAG actors in L.A. And it's a Quarter-Finalist in the short script category of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition where it placed in the top 5% out of over 2,000 submissions. In addition, it was an Official Selection of the APM Short Screenplay Competiton.

 

The script is set on April Fool's Day when a radio disk-jockey gets a late night call from his ex-girlfriend, a mental patient, claiming that she escaped the asylum and planted a time-bomb in his DJ booth that will blow him up in 5 minutes. But is she telling the truth or is it all an elaborate prank?

Giancarlo Fusi's 'Hell Hound' Nominated for 3 Awards at the Oaxaca FilmFest

The televison pilot 'Hell Hound' reciveved three nominations at the Oaxaca FilmFest including Best Horror Script, Best Original Concept and Best Global Script, the festival's top award. As one of the top film festivals in Latin America, Oaxaca has been called the "Sundance of the South" and is one of MovieMaker's Top 50 Festivals in 2016.

Giancarlo Fusi's 'Hell Hound' has Table Read at Brown University's Ivy Fest

'Hell Hound' was one of only three Finalists in the TV Pilots category at the 15th annual Ivy Film Festival, the largest student run film festival in the world. Special guest speakers included Jodie Foster and Robert DeNiro.

During the Ivy Fest, a table read of the "crossroads" scene where Robert Johnson makes his legendary deal with the Devil was held at a historic hall on the Brown University campus in Providence, Rhode Island.

Supernatural short 'Violette Hayes: A True Story' won 1st Place in the Shallow Sea Stories Screenplay Compettion. 

 

'Violette Hayes' was also awarded a Filmmaker Grant at the Love Your Shorts Film Festival to be produced as a short film.

 

And 'Violette Hayes' was also named an Official Selection fo the Guild of Italian American Actors Film Festival. 

 

'Violette Hayes' is the story of high-school buds Sonny and Jake who drive to their prom down a lonely road in the Florida Keys where they encounter Violette Hayes, a beautiful and mysterious girl who will change their lives forever.
