Born in London, UK, I grew up in Dublin, Ireland and Luxembourg. Today, home is Sydney, Australia with my wife and son.
I grew up in a house of books and cinema. My earliest cinematic memory is Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris on BBC.
Years later, after a stint in journalism (including two published non-fiction books) fiction drew me back, specifically screenwriting. After picking up awards for my (now, unfortunately prescient) dystopian feature, Disconn, I went on to work on more feature projects and am currently working on an ambitious TV project.
My first literary love remains dystopian fiction -- not because of its gloom, but because of the glint of light, of hope, it forces us to find, to rescue, to preserve. It's these stories we need now, more than ever.
In 2016, my sci-fi, Disconn won Fast Track Fellowship III. I made the most of the Fast Track prize, the knowledge of industry insiders and fellow creatives, and started engaging with the industry. That same year, Disconn picked up another award -- Gold in the PAGE International Awards. After contacting and being contacted by literary managers and producers, I signed with Catapult Entertainment Group's Chris Watkins.
A second film (SILO) is currently in pre-production with Australian Director Sean Lahiff.
I've also written treatments for other producers along the way and was hired to pitch one of those projects to Scott Free Productions, which opened the door to interest from SFP on a spec feature I'm currently writing.
