Program Description

The Sherman Oaks Film Festival gives a Grand Jury Prize to an unproduced screenplay every year.  Our jury selects the best written screenplay regardless of genre or format.  Feature length, short length, TV pilot, spec TV script, web series, etc.  We are looking for the best writers!

First we announce 10 to 15 Official Selections.  These writers all get 2 free passes to the festival.

Then we hold a ceremony at our festival where all of the Official Selection screenwriters get to tell us about their script and then the winner is announced live!

It's a lot of fun and we love that writers, who are normally trapped at home with their computer, get a chance to hear applause for their work from a film festival audience!
