Candice’s projects include a documentary on a Mars Analog Simulation Mission (PMAS), where she wrote and produced the video materials with an international team representing the Space Generation Advisory Council of the United Nations. Candice is also a producer on the Robbie & Stephen Amell led science fiction feature film, Code 8, and is an associate producer on the science fiction web-series Deep Six (starring Tahmoh Penikett) and Amortal, as well as Asian romantic comedy series, Kat Loves LA, which was directed by David Marciano (Due South). She was also an assistant producer on the short film, 10 Grand, a heist drama, produced by Progression 7. Other projects are the true-life travel and historical docudrama reality series entitled Dover to Cape Town by Any Means: A Journey of Hope, and The Untitled Stephen Thompson Project, an autobiographical feature. Candice is also the host of Limitless, a podcast celebrating the diversity of women in STEM, co-produced by the award-winning studio, TheStoryBoxes.
Enter Entropy is a TV drama series concept created and written by Candice. This fictional story draws upon Candice’s experiences in the science (STEM), emergency services, and law enforcement arenas, and showcases a strong female protagonist. The scripts for the 13-episode first season are available as an eBook or paperback on Amazon. Renowned storyboard artist, David Russell, has worked on concept illustrations for the series. Candice was a WritersForWriters Female Fellowship Finalist for her work on Enter Entropy and was selected for the Women in Film & Television (WIFT) Australia MentorHer program. Fight choreography for Enter Entropy: Volume 2 (2019, available on Amazon) is by Vicente Reyes (Star Wars).
Candice is a scientific technical advisor and screenwriting consultant for the International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA), as well as The Science and Entertainment Exchange, given her PhDs in Chemical Engineering and Molecular Biology. She was also a contributing content writer for Voice of TV / Telfie Buzz. Candice is a panelist at Supanova Comic Con and Gaming as well as Oz Comic Con, discussing her experiences as a scientist and science fiction writer and how those two worlds overlap.
Candice is well-traveled and has experience being interviewed by reporters, interacting with guests at TV & film events, and working with other professionals around the globe using various communications tools.
Dr Candice Michelle Goodwin was born in South Africa and reinvented in Australia. Candice has a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Applied Science, and a Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biology, having specialized in discovering new species of bacteria from extreme environments capable of producing novel enzymes and antibiotics to treat global diseases, such as tuberculosis. Her interest in astrobiology has led to a long-term relationship with players in the space technology industry.
Candice has a strong track record of tackling the challenges faced by start-up companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, including validation approaches, process development, and compliance with quality systems. This experience led to the capacity to consult and advise independently, acting as an adaptable and proven validation engineering and GMP consultant, having consulted on projects both nationally and internationally, including in the USA, Canada, Mexico, China and the EU.
With over 20 years’ experience in the STEM arena, Candice has used various microscopy instruments, including having recently been the Queensland Territory Manager for microscopy company, Leica Microsystems.
Candice has a gift for writing, is a world traveller, and has a respected ability to science things. Candice is also the author of the science fiction book series, Enter Entropy, inspired by the genetic revolution, showcasing a strong, intelligent female lead character, available on Amazon. She is also a producer on Canadian film and TV projects that are positively disrupting industry trends. Candice hosts a fresh, new podcast celebrating women in STEM, complementing Candice's STEM advocacy initiatives.
