Biography

Hooked on a fun premise for over 10 years, Andrea taught herself the craft of screenwriting. A former proofreader and manager, Andrea's life in script terms is firmly in the meaty second act. She writes character-driven stories with heart that portray complicated family dynamics—mostly drama and grounded comedy. Her scripts find the emotional story, exploring themes of loss, atonement, estrangement and regret along with love, hope, forgiveness and new beginnings. A native Iowan currently residing in Wisconsin, all of her scripts have Midwest flavor, but locations are flexible.

Andrea has a collaborative spirit. She's co-written a holiday romance feature, THE CHRISTMAS COACH, with David Congalton, a produced screenwriter out of California. They collaborated entirely over email!

Andrea's goal is to secure representation and sell her scripts. She'd love to connect with a creative in the industry who has the vision and power to bring them to life. Organized and detail-oriented with a flexible schedule, she's “free to fly” and would welcome the opportunity to connect with others to help make it happen.

A team player who's always up for an adventure and loves to travel, Andrea was the Script Supervisor for a short film, which she enjoyed. She finds fulfillment being part of an artistic team and is open to volunteering on another film set to help another creative with their vision. 

Andrea's receptive to feedback/constructive criticism pertaining to her scripts. In fact, she welcomes it since she's regularly polishing them as inspiration strikes. She's also completely open to tweaking a script to suit specific needs. A Communication Studies graduate of The University of Iowa, she's been described as a person who can talk to anyone.
