Since placing in the semi-finals of the Nicholl Fellowship in October 2021, Annie has made significant headway with her screenwriting career. In January 2022, she worked with FilmNation on the development of a new series, with first refusal on writing an episode, and has also placed on the ITV Original Voices 2022 Emmerdale writer training scheme. Annie also produced a short film, The Monkey’s Paw, endorsed by Hammer Films and directed by Ben Caplan, and is a trainee Development Producer with Brazen Productions.
Annie writes drama, although her style and tastes span across light-hearted comedy-drama through to period drama and thrillers. She uses her experiences of being disabled, neurodivergent, and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community to normalise under-represented voices in universally relevant stories, with a strong focus on found family, changing relationships, and moral dilemmas.
