A French cosmopolitan expat, Ariane studied literature in Paris and London, before graduating from the American Film Institute Conservatory with an MFA in screenwriting. Passionate about art and history, Ariane’s screenplays focus on female empowerment with passionate protagonists who fight society's injustices to find their voice. If period dramas are her favourite genre, Ariane’s dark sense of humour naturally leads her to black comedies that focus on rejoicing themes, like death! A Nicholl Fellowship quarter-finalist, Ariane’s historical drama The Unfinished Sonata was pitched at the Cannes Film Market in 2022. It’s currently in pre-production with James Foley (At Close Range, Glengarry Glen Ross, Fifty Shades Darker) attached to direct. After co-writing a psychological horror with director Erin Vassilopoulos (Superior), she was recently hired to write the adaptation of the acclaimed British novel A Thousand Paper Birds by Tor Udall. She is based between Los Angeles and France.
