A.W. "Tony" Scott and Jean Qing Su are life and work partners focusing on grounded, character-driven stories, typically with organically diverse characters: 'real heroes, not superheroes." Their scripts have placed or won outright in over 40 screenplay competitions. Four of their spec features and three of their pilots have been optioned, and they have been hired to write three other feature screenplays.
Tony will direct, and Jean produce Tony's feature screenplay, HIGHER LOVE, which is planned for production in the first half of 2025. Danny Glover, Jane Seymour, and Tom Berenger are attached for the lead roles.
In 2017, Tony and Jean's production company, Broadvision Pictures, produced GREY LADY with Beacon Pictures. The feature film starred Eric Dane, Natalie Zea, and Oscar-nominated Amy Madigan. Jean served as Executive Producer. Broadvision was responsible for the film's multi-city theatrical release. Tony and Jean created and managed the release's marketing campaign, utilizing social media and digital marketing to reach highly targeted audiences efficiently.
In 2019, Tony wrote and directed, and Jean produced their first short film, TOGETHER, as a proof of concept for Tony’s previously written feature, HIGHER LOVE. The short was selected to screen in 26 film festivals in the U.S., the UK, the Caribbean and Europe, including three Academy Award Qualifying Festivals for short films. TOGETHER won accolades at 13 of these festivals, including multiple "Best Film" and "Best Screenplay" awards, as well as awards for "Best Director," "Best Producer,"; "Best Actor," and "Best Actress".
Based on that success, they were hired to write, direct, and produce the satirical comedy REPRESENTATION MATTERS...?, selected to screen in 13 film festivals in the U.S., Japan, and Latin America. That film has won multiple honors for “Best Film,” “Best Director”, as well as “Best Actress” awards for both lead actresses.
They were recently hired to produce, write, and direct an image ad for Innovative Wealth Strategists, a boutique wealth management company.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Tony and Jean worked as consultants in the tech industry, based in Silicon Valley for many years. After retiring from the technology world, they completed the UCLA Graduate Film School's Professional Screenwriting, Writing for Television, and Producing Programs.
Born in New Orleans and raised in Mississippi, Tony is a rich gumbo of ethnicities and cultures, including the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Tony received his BA from the University of Mississippi and MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He worked as a semi-professional jazz/funk/R&B musician to help pay for college and graduate school.
Jean was born and raised in Beijing, China. She received her BA from the University of International Business and Economics and her Master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is a native Mandarin speaker, fluent in English.
