From London, England, Chris is a former dramatically-trained actor. Whilst working on set, Chris found himself disheartened with the process and discovered a passion behind the scenes. It was at this point, Chris undertook a post-graduate in Independent Filmmaking. After completing his MA, Chris co-founded the film production and development company Craven Street.
His first foray into short-format storytelling, Chris directed and co-wrote the comedy short The Hitman. Building on collaborative relationships, and later directed the short drama Debt. The micro-short series, Two Line Terrors, was co-written/directed by Chris - intended as an exercise in expressing a theme within a 30-second timeframe, and served as preparation for his directorial debut feature Astral.
Astral premiered at the San Diego International Film Festival - nominated for Best World Premiere, Best Feature, and the Chris Brinker Breakthrough Director Award. Chris has also been a film student mentor for his former programme since 2016. He is also a proud member of the WGGB, BECTU and BAFTA.
