Biography

CJ was approached to adapt that novel into a screenplay as a vehicle for a well-known actor. That endeavor hit the Coverfly Red List in April 2022 and reached the top 6% on Coverfly's List of Discoverable Projects thanks to favorable performances in competitions such as the 15th Annual StoryPros International Screenplay, WePlay Screenplay & Fresh Voices Screenplay, Unique Voices screenwriting competitions.

CJ also collaborated with long-time friend and playwright Kevin Renshaw on the feature-length absurdist comedy "CECIL'S WOODS" about an orphan living amongst unique animals on a densely wooded highway median, which won the Stage32 Feature Screenwriting Fellowship, and was a finalist in the 14th Annual StoryPro Screenplay Competition, Catalina Film Festival, and the Ojai Film Festival, as well as semi and quarter finals at Filmmatic, Blastoff & Scriptation competitions among others, putting Cecil's Woods in the top 3% of Coverfly's List of Discoverable Screenplays, and hit their Red List several times in 2022 and 2023.

CJ's most recent project is the unique "pre-historical fiction" zombie screenplay "ÖT-Z." The "based on a true story" feature and short versions of this screenplay have already placed in several competitions and two known actors have expressed interest in the lead roles.

CJ is a former journalist, turned PR practitioner, novelist and award-winning screenwriter. A bit of a late bloomer, he branched out into the long-form literary world with the publication of HURRICANE RON: A Novel (Dagger Books) - a Crime Fiction Lover "Ten to Taste" and Acclaimed Books' "People's Choice" - at the tender age of ... 40-something.
