Daniel Lawrence Abrams grew up in NYC attending Trinity School and Stuyvesant High School. He graduated from the University of Michigan's honors program with a degree in Psychology. Abrams earned a US Patent for one of his inventions and gave a TEDx Talk.
In the past 5 years (as of September 30, 2023), five of Abrams’ feature film scripts (“EXABYTE” and "ALIENS WIRED ME A TRILLION DOLLARS" where he has sole writing credit, as well as “THE VACATIONERS” which he co-wrote with Grant Taylor and "AWOKEN:2070” and "REALITY OF THE FUTURE" which he co-wrote with Zoe Quist) have collectively earned 30 accolades in assorted film festivals’ screenplay contests, including:

Abrams was the Co-Executive Producer of the theatrically-released feature ON WINGS OF EAGLES starring Joseph Fiennes. Abrams was on the producing team of Director Zoe Quist’s micro-budget feature films RAW CUT and MINING FOR RUBY.
Abrams’ short, THE KNEW-IT-ALL, played in 3 film festivals including The Big Apple Film Festival (at the Tribeca Cinemas).
Abrams’ short film, CURRENTLY ADOPTED played in 3 other film festivals and won the INDI.com Comedy Competition (currently over 118,000 views on that site).
Abrams wrote, produced, & directed pilot presentations at the HBO/Warner Bros. TV Workspace, Powerhouse Theater, and the Stella Adler Theater.
As Writer/Director and Executive Producer of the Bodog Entertainment / Riptown Media web series (about a punk rock star’s wedding entitled “Bif Naked Bride”), Abrams earned an Official Honoree accolade in the 2008 Webby Awards.
He's produced hundreds of hours of television (Reality TV). Was the Supervising Producer of the 2014 Emmy-Nominated SundanceTV show “The Writers’ Room” and was a freelance Producer/Director for “House Hunters International” on HGTV.
Abrams co-produced the award-winning documentary PINK & BLUE: COLORS OF HEREDITARY CANCER about breast cancer affecting both men and women. Released theatrically in NY & LA.
He training in comedy writing at Second City & The Groundlings and also did stand-up at The Improv in LA and The Comedy Cellar in NYC.
