Devin Jane Febbroriello is a North American film director + screenwriter who specializes in the creation of thought-provoking stories centered on women, complex relationship dramas, and humor. Evocative characters and contemplative multi-genre plots combine with traditional storytelling techniques to cultivate her deeply emotive works. Devin’s practice is informed by a fierce love of cinematic storytelling mixed with her deep-seated interest in films unique capacity to poetically investigate the human condition and cultivate a profound sense of connection. Although her work is rooted in traditional cinema, she also explores new media and emerging technology.
Devin has created award-winning music videos and short films that have screened at Pitchfork, Filmfort, BUFF Malmo, Nashville Film Festival, Venice VR Expanded, Portland Film Festival, Bend Film Festival, Stereogum, Rolling Stone, and more. She is a RACC Project Grant/Innovation Prize recipient 2020, Arts 3C Grant 2023 recipient, as well as a Lucas Artist Fellowship Collaborator 2017-2020. Her pilot script for the episodic series "Blood is Thicker" was a finalist in Screencraft TV Pilot Script Competition, and her feature script "Kathleen's Sound Bath" was an Austin Film Festival 2024 Second Rounder, a Script Lab Semi-Finalist, and is ranked in the top 5% of scripts on Coverfly for its category.
She received her Bachelor of Art in film from Emerson College, attended specialized cinema studies at FAMU (Czech Republic), and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting through the David Lynch School of Cinematic Arts at Maharishi University.
In 2021 Devin partnered with Desert Island Studios to develop a full-service production company in-house. She is currently the Head of Production at Desert Island Studios.
