Toop first entered the world of film making in Taipei, Taiwan where his shoestring budget feature-length documentary "Goodbye Night Market, Good Bye" (再見夜市再見) aired on national television. Shortly thereafter he and a fellow expat founded Cracked Aperture Films, which produced promos, commercials and other visual content for businesses in various parts of East Asia and the United States.
Toop took an interest in writing for TV/movies after serving as a staff writer for LA-based horror fandom magazine Diabolique, having had the opportunity to meet and talk with many interesting actors, writers and directors. His work often features larger than life characters struggling to overcome overwhelming odds, with recent screenplays "How-to Kung Fu" and "Praise to the Man" winning accolades in the contest circuit. He enjoys comedies, animation, dramas, and more.
