As a writer who has a passion for immerse storytelling, being a scriptwriter is an opportunity to study under the best in the entertainment industry. I have been a fan of your storytelling and would love to work with and be educated by your legendary scriptwriters. As of now, I have recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with an MFA Degree in Dramatic Writing. I have also received my BFA for Fashion Design and Merchandising with a Minor in Business that led me to be a Costume Assistant at Walt Disney World for two years. Each of your diverse movies and television series tell a riveting story about unique characters who are put to the test just like I am willing to learn and ace everything that is thrown in my direction.
My involvement with costuming at Disney World has given me the skills to grasp the entertainment world. Working with a diverse number of people throughout the company has given me the insight to communicate and collaborate with others. I learned that Disney projects, different cultures through costumes and storytelling, and working with everyone on different projects has given me a bigger perception on our needs to accomplish our goal of constructing, refurbishing, and storing costumes for various events.
While I was at SCAD, I used my time to communicate with my fellow students and teachers in perfecting my writing ability. Similar to a writer’s room, I exchanged ideas and notions on evaluating each script that was table-read in class. It helped me think outside the box and with each word that was spoken, I could see the characters perform the action and dialogue. This provided me with a way to make it easier to translate my storytelling into an enchanting tale that will capture my audiences’ attention. I know my educations in the entertainment business will be similar to my time with SCAD and improve my writing ability in the same way my fellow students and teachers did.
I look forward to contributing to the dynamics of Entertainment family as a future script writer. I am inspired to write for a variety of shows that you will be producing. I have grown up with many different styles of and I look forward to learning as a fan and future scriptwriter.
