Huriyyah Muhammad is a writer, director and producer whose projects have been invited to the Sundance Film Institute, Tribeca Film Institute, Austin Film Festival, New Voices in Black Cinema, IFP Film Week, African Film Festival and American Black Film Festival. Huriyyah is also a 2018 Sundance Creative Producing Fellow with her narrative feature film, Farewell Amor, currently in pre-production.
As busy as Huriyyah is as an artist, she is also a proud activist. As co-founder of the Black TV & Film Collective, she spends a great deal of her time growing the 1300-member 501c3, dedicated to developing and supporting emerging artists of color. Through the organization she is able to fulfill both her love of creating art and helping others to do the same.
Huriyyah holds a BS in Computer Science from Spelman College and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
