Jan Miller Corran began her career as a neuropsychologist. After many years of treating patients, Corran turned to her first love- writing. A undergraduate at the University of Iowa, Corran was a member of the world famous Iowa Writer's Workshop. That led to publishing her first children's book, a number of plays and numerous articles. In 1995 the filmmaking bug bit and her first film. as a consulting producer, Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter, was nominated that year for an Academy Award. Since then, Corran has gone on to producing films like I'll See You in My Dreams with Blythe Danner, Sam Eliott and June Squibb. In 2018 she wrote her first screenplay, Snapshots, which she produced staring Piper Laurie, Brooke Adams, Max Adler, Brett Dier and directed by Melanie Mayron. Currently, her latest screenplay, How 'Bout a Cuppa Tea, is scheduled to begin filming this summer. In November of 2019, her play The Last Word premiered at the Garry Marshall Theatre in Los Angeles. Her new play The Last Chapter was postponed due to the pandemic but will premiere in Los Angeles in spring of 2021.
