Biography

Jacqueline "Jax" Wright (she/they) began their journey navigating a tumultuous childhood, including a stint as a Teenage Runaway, training for the Alpine Ski Team, and being sent to an infamous Cult School for troubled teens. Jacqueline found comfort/healing in the NY & LA theater community as a performer and writer; garnering OVATIONS,  LAWEEKLY and CRITIC CIRCLE AWARDS for collaborations like CLYT AT HOME and ELEKTRA LALA with Ghost Road, and PATRON SAINT OF SEA MONSTERS at Playwright Horizons. As a solo writer Jax is known for their vulnerable & divisive play, EAT ME, their dream play LOVE WATER, Dorian Gray deconstruction/re-imagining, DRIVING WILD, & current deconstructionist explorations; SPIDER BITES & THE GIANT PLAY. Wright has received LA Weekly, Backstage nominations for their plays Bing, Eat Me, and Spider Bites, a Jerome Fellowship alternate for their play Love Water, a finalist for Sundance Screenwriter Lab, and semifinalist for the Sherwood Award.  The feature film adaptation of their critically acclaimed play Eat Me (Sundance lab finalist, awarded best Cult Film at The Cult Film Festival, Best Psychological Thriller, Suspense Feature at the Peephole Festival, Best Screenplay, Actor) now streaming on all platforms including Fandor.
