Jeffrey Howe lives and works in the scenic Black Creek Bottoms area near St. Louis, Missouri. Since he started screenwriting in June 2015, his screenplays have won 48 competitions. His drama feature script "Summer Cut" won the Historical category for the 2023 Final Draft Big Break contest, and was a top 50 semifinalist for the 2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship (under the title "Flat-rate Frank").
His first produced script, "Past Partum" won Best Horror Short at the 2019 Toronto Independent Film Festival. His first effort as a writer-director, the dark comedy "Ta-Da!", took Best Comedy Short honors at the 2023 Austin Revolution Film Festival.
His short fiction appears in One Teen Story, the anthology Moon Shot: Murder and Mayhem at the Edge of Space, and the quarterly anthology The First Line.
Favorite themes in his work include second chances, found families, and despite it all, hope.
