Jennifer D’Angelo Kircher was raised in New York on a diet of Neil Simon plays, antipasto and catholic guilt. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, and the Directors Guild of America Trainee Program. Jen got her start in the business on the movie GROUNDHOG DAY, then cut her teeth as an Assistant Director on blockbuster features and episodic TV. Having raised four children and one grown man, it is no surprise that FAMILY COMEDY and FAMILY DRAMA are her favorite genres.
Jen lived in Asia for 12 years, and has an interest in different cultures. After being a fish out of water in multiple cities and countries, she loves to explore identity themes and draws from her personal experiences. Her stories often highlight that we are all more similar than we are different.
She was hired in 2022 to write the dramatic feature, MY NAME IS KIRA, based on the true story of rape survivor Kira Wahlstrom, and the script is currently in development with Torfoot Entertainment. She co-wrote the dramatic, political feature SEOUL 88, which has Gina Kim attached to direct. A NYC-based producer and director just came on board one of her comedy features. Jen is a "Black List Recommended Writer", and is grateful that her feature and pilot scripts have earned top awards in contests.
Jen enjoys collaborating with other writers and has penned several scripts as part of a team. She'd love to find the right director and producer for her animated 4Q family comedy feature that focuses on characters (animals) with disabilities. She works best juggling lots of balls, and a few on fire.
