Jesse and Jerren specialize in writing genre films that thrust well-drawn characters into high-concept premises. Horror flicks and action thrillers that deliver the goods fans of these genres crave, but rounded out by crisp, clever dialogue, humor, and fully realized people dreaming, scheming, and screaming their way through the stories. They like entertainments, big and small, that can sneak in themes about the world. To them, RoboCop is a perfect movie. A smart, violent, even thoughtful sci-fi/action movie seething with satire that makes it timeless. More recently, they’ve loved the elevated genre-bending of films like The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Snowpiercer,  and Knives Out. They recently completed post-production on their first feature film, which Jerren directed, called Stay Out of the F*cking Attic, about a group of ex-con movers that discover their client is a famed Nazi doctor performing gruesome experiments. Jerren and Jesse set out to make a nervy riot, something that was fun, tense as hell, and angry at the same time. The film recently took Best Feature honors at the 2020 Atlanta Horror Film Festival and was purchased by AMC's Shudder streaming service for North American distribution.
