First, a little bit about me, as a wordsmith. I am an excellent writer with experience in scriptwriting, journalism and non-fiction, as well as all manner of professional documents. My ear for dialogue and eye for detail stand me in good stead in bringing characters to life. I have a sense of humour which I can unleash or suppress as required, and speaking seven languages doesn’t hurt my cultural awareness and story-telling ability either.
My strong interest in story started when I was very young, so The Interplay of Realism and Expressionism in the Form and Technique of the Russian Folktale seemed like a logical choice for my thesis on the way to a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Russian. This fascination with folklore and oral history, first as a listener and then as a reader, ignited my passion for learning more about drama and narrative techniques.
On a personal note, I am passionate about health and fitness, a lifelong horse lover, accomplished equestrian and horse breeder, and a former Australian Champion Powerlifter.
As a creative, I am proud of completing my first commissioned screenplay (a true-crime biopic set around the Fitzgerald Inquiry), writing an award-winning book (Winning Horsemanship. A Judge’s Secrets and Tips for Your Success) and co-producing an award-winning short film (5 Moons of Pluto, for which I also won an award as best Art Director).
As co-founder of Development Producers (Creative Concepts for the Screen), I am excited that a TV documentary series we devised has been picked up by a major production company. I look forward to expanding my industry knowledge through further partnerships with experienced producers.
I am available on a freelance basis to apply my lifetime of professional experience, writing, scriptwriting or manuscript editing, research and management skills to your project.
I am a member of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts, Australian Film Institute, Australian Writers Guild, Screen Producers Australia and Screenworks.
