Biography

Joseph Mwamba is a first-generation African-American Y.A. writer from Indiana. He's currently the Writers' Assistant & Freelance Writer for Season 2 of Netflix's upcoming anime TOM CLANCY'S SPLINTER CELL, right after being the Writers' PA for Season 4 of Netflix's psychological thriller YOU and Season 2 of the Apple TV+ mystery-comedy THE AFTERPARTY. Previously an assistant for two TV Lit agents at UTA, Joe earned a Producing MFA from Chapman University following four years at Viacom/VH1. He was selected into Coverfly's Endorsed Writer Program and the 2022 HRTS Mentorship Program while being a VIP Mentor for WeScreenplay's College Screenplay Lab and an Alumni Mentor for Indiana University's Media School. His Y.A. action dramedy THE KNIGHT'S PHOENIX won the 2022 Emerging Screenwriters Action & Adventure Pilot Competition, its ninth contest accolade. An emerging Y.A. writer with business, producing, and industry experience, Joe aims to write aspiring characters within Young Adult TV shows.
