Kacy Boccumini

(He/Him/His)

Screenwriter | Producer | Director | Actor

Biography

Kacy Boccumini is an award-winning writer, producer, and director from Los Angeles. He holds an MA from New York University in Film Theory and is a 14-year veteran at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Prior to his transition, he was a main cast member of two seasons of Showtime’s docu-series The Real L Word.

Kacy started My Best Guy in 2019, an independent production studio under which he has written and directed award-winning shorts, won several screenwriting festival prizes, and created award-winning episodic and feature-lenth content shown at Outfest and Slamdance.

He writes and hosts The Stores We Tell - a podcast about the way we read movies, that unravels the myth making of Hollywood from a theoretical perspective. The first season is dedicated to the Universal Monsters, the roots of the horror genre. He's also working on numerous projects that focus on the transformational narratives in Horror, which has become his genre of choice.

He is one of the few trans writers working in the genre to correct the checkered past of mis-representation and fear stoking by Hollywood.
