Kate Holland (she/her) trained in London at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. As a writer, Kate is primarily collaborative, centering queer stories and women's writing. She created the story and characters for the play No Provenance with award-winning playwright Caroline Prugh. Kate directed and co-wrote the short film No Monsters in Berlin which won the Diversity at Cannes Grand Jury Prize and the Best Short Film at the New York Short Film Festival. No Monsters featured Berlin-based Syrian refugees as members of the cast and crew. With her writing partner Mala Ghedia, Kate developed No Monsters into a web series and recently completed The Writers Lab Europe, a virtual script development lab. Kate also co-created the libretto for Letters That You Will Not Get, an opera based on women’s writings from the First World War which had its NYC premier this summer at American Opera Project. Kate's latest collaboration is Offsiders, a trans teen sports romcom with writing partner Marlowe Mitchell.
