Kirsten Shu-ying Chen is a poet and screenwriter born and raised at the Jersey Shore. The author of Light Waves (Terrapin Books), Chen is a MacDowell fellow and has been noted as a finalist for the PANK Book Prize, Autumn House Press Chapbook Prize, GRIST Pro Forma contest and DISQUIET International Literary Prize.
As a screenwriter, her first pilot, "Rebel Rebel," second-rounded at Sundance, was a finalist for ISA Fast Track, and received an "8" on The Blacklist. She was a founding writer and member of the UCB team "One Prop Wonder." Her web series "Beds," premiered at the Museum of the Moving Image. She lives in New York.
