Austin Film Festival Winner and Catalyst Story Institute Winner Lillie Gardner writes about women defying expectations. Raised in the Midwest, Lillie studied writing and music at New York University. Her background as a pianist lends an elegant pacing to her writing, which examines the ways in which our belief systems both help us and hold us back.
In addition to winning at Austin Film Festival (2022) and Catalyst Story Institute (2021), Lillie has been a Big Break Top 3 Finalist, a ScreenCraft Drama Finalist, a Finalist in Barnstorm Media's BOLT Competition, as well as a Finalist in Roadmap Writers Pitching Madness Tournament and The ISA's TV Pilot Pitch Challenge. She has also been a CineStory and Shore Scripts Semifinalist in addition to many other accolades.
Three of Lillie's screenplays have been Official Selections at the Catalyst Story Institute Festival. She is a mentee in the first cohort of the NATAS/Catalyst TV Industry Mentorship Program, where she is currently working with showrunner Jessica Goldberg (The Path, Away).
Also a writer of fiction and creative nonfiction, Lillie's prose has been published in Quail Bell Magazine, Delmarva Review, Long River Review, Funny-ish.com, and more.
