Luke Zwanziger is a comedian, historian, and award winning filmmaker who writes comedy and genre fiction and episodic screenplays. He hosts and produces a monthly sketch showcase, Portland’s Funniest Videos, and has been on various film festival boards. His scripts have placed in various contests including a finalist for FiLMLaBtv and a semifinalist for ATX. He grew up working construction and in veterinary hospitals in small towns in the Pacific Northwest, but eventually broke free to chase his dreams, eventually landing in Scotland to get his master’s degree in Early Medieval Celtic. His protagonists confront the social and personal pressures that cause us to remain in and make the best of bad situations. His scripts use comedy and genre elements to make these observations more palatable and engaging for audiences. Living in Portland, Oregon, his penchant for the absurd is kept in check by the persistently grey skies causing him to examine the darkness and ennui of the human condition while eating artisanal donuts.
