Biography

Mark Sevi is an award-winning scriptwriter and producer who has written over 125 scripts, sold 34 scripts, 22 of which have been made into films. One of his 1-hour drama TV pilots is being shopped at all the streaming services and packaging agencies by a production group.

Mark is also a contributor to many writing periodicals and books including Final Draft, Creative Screenwriting Magazine, Fangoria, Now Write, Writers Digest, and Salon.

His books on scriptwriting (Quantum Scriptwriting and Story Prose) are available on Amazon. He also has published a short story anthology called Blood Fiction, v.1. Volume 2 has a May 2023 publishing date and two scifi novellas, Black Vault and Demon Spear.

A teacher for decades in Southern California and Oregon, Mark teaches scriptwriting through the Southern California Community College System. He has taught both online and in the classroom bringing a hard-won insight to students as young as 14 and as old as 90 and to students both new to scriptwriting, and accomplished in the craft.

A frequent lecturer at college writing classes and writing seminars, Mark also lectures on a wide-range of topics from Joseph Campbell’s Hero Journey to Serial Killers having researched true crime for decades, and spent time with such FBI profilers as the legendary Robert Ressler (Whoever Fights Monsters.)

Mark taught podcasting for two years through Orange Coast College as a non-credited class. His podcasts on writing, Plotpoints Podcast and Whoever Writes Monsters, are available on all podcasting venues including Apple Podcasts. He also advises for, and produces/edits several other podcasts.

Mark is the president of the Orange County Screenwriters Association (ocscreenwriters.org) a not-for-profit organization he founded that empowers both amateur and professional filmmakers with resources and seminars.

an avid swimmer, and martial artist, Mark has achieved the rank of GoDan (5th degree black belt) and was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2009.
