Michael Bruce Adams has over 19 years of film and television production experience. He has directed a feature length documentary and is in development with another. He has written 26 feature length screenplays. He is a sought after Script Consultant for feature films, documentaries and television series with clients in Canada, the US, Africa and Europe… and he has worked on over 120 film and television productions as an Assistant Cameraman.
After gaining a bachelors degree in Physical Education with a concentration on Literature and Psychology at the University of British Columbia, Michael gave up a career in advertising to follow his passion; filmmaking. To build a practical foundation for his craft, Michael immersed himself in the study of the practical application of story theory and structure… an ongoing pursuit. Michael joined the production side of the industry in 1994, first as a Production Assistant and Assistant Director, then as an Assistant Cameraman.
The invaluable ‘on-set’ filmmaking experience he gained on productions including; “Dark Angel”, “The ‘L’ Word”, “Elektra”, “I Spy”, “Beyond Borders”, “The Thirteenth Warrior” and “Miracle” allows Michael to contribute to projects not only as a creative force offering imaginative solutions to storytelling challenges, but as a practical collaborator with years of production experience.
Michael’s current projects include the an educational series "Story Through the Lens: Technical Filmmaking Choices for Maximum Emotional Impact", post-production on his documentary, “Kulka: The Final Round”, and pre-production as Screenwriter and Creative Consultant on his short feature "Bombshell" and feature length comedy "Kiss the Sky" for First Breath Productions. Michael's latest screenplay "My Brave Face" was a quarter finalist (top 100 out of approximately 4000 entries) in both the ISA Emerging Screenwriter's Contest and The Final Draft Big Break Contest.
