Michael is a multiple award-winning WGA writer whose co-written script, THE FALL, won both the Slamdance Best Feature and Grand Prize before being optioned. His comedy pilot F-YOU! I’M A TEACHER! won the Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition.
He writes stories about people forced to confront the scariest threat imaginable: themselves.
Speaking of scary, Michael used to teach improv to Fortune 500 executives and their teams—because few things are more fun than uniting a roomful of people through vulnerability and laughter (all while sneaking in lessons on leadership, conflict resolution, and, let’s face it, just being nice to each other).
Michael has lived with Tourette’s Syndrome since he was thirteen (before which, he thought his biggest problem was zits). Speaking in front of large audiences while navigating Tourette’s has given him profound insight into marginalized experiences—and compassion for those unsure whether to stare or look away.
He brings that lived experience to his characters, weaving heart and humor into every story, because while Tourette’s can be a pain in the ass, it also makes for some damn funny moments.
He’s currently developing a comedy pilot for a former network exec, and is the Co-EP and co-writer of a series slated to shoot in New Zealand next year. Michael specializes in adapting/developing IP or producers’ original ideas into commercially viable screenplays, pilots, and series. His work includes a page-one rewrite of an action thriller feature for a production company.
Before screenwriting and producing full-time, Michael was a Vice President at a $150M company. He’s a big fan of carbs and finds writing in the third-person a little weird.
