A seasoned writer on the Indian Sesame Street Show, among others, Paras particularly enjoys writing screenplays centred on human interest stories and complexities in communication. In 2008, his screenplay Ningni, based on a politically-charged short story earned him a spot at the 5th Berlinale Talent Campus of the Osian’s Film Festival. Chief among the program was a master class in screenwriting by Golden Globe nominated screenwriter – the often controversial Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull)

His spec, C/O Professor was in consideration for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2013.

His spec Deepest, Darkest or How Not To Lie, a contemporary, queer-themed epistolary drama was awarded the BlueCat Roshan Award for the best submission from India by filmmaker and BlueCat founder Gordy Hoffman (writer of the Sundance winner Love, Liza starring his brother Philip Seymour Hoffman) Deepest, Darkest was also among the top 6 per cent in consideration for the Grand Prize of the international contest that received over 4,500 entries.

Paras is an alum of the Graduate Professional Program in Screenwriting at the Theater, Film And Television School at UCLA. His other interests are intense cinephilia, soundtracks, reading, brisk walks, travel, strategy games, conversations and cocktails.He swears by the works of Paul Thomas Anderson, Gus Van Sant, Michael Haneke and Satyajit Ray.
