Optioned, Produced and Award-Winning Screenwriter
I’m an optioned, produced, and award-winning screenwriter in both film and television. Based in London till 2015, I'm now relocated back permanently in LA.
After studying screenwriting at UCLA - my first gig at just 21 was working w/ Garry Marshall as a punch-up writer, on-set, on feature film Pretty Woman (“976-BABE"...that was me, lol!)
Smashcut to 2016/2017 - I have been hired by UK Producers to adapt author Darren Shan's second film adaptation starting spring 2016! (his first film was Universal & Relativity Media's "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant,” 2009). Was hired by BAFTA-nominated Producer Stephen Evans (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Madness of King George, etc) and the legendary Literary Agent/Prod Christopher Little, the man behind JK Rowling and Harry Potter fame.
Recently my features, shorts and TV projects have won several FIRST PLACE awards or been shortlisted “Official Selection” finalists in major film festivals and comps including: The London Film Awards (Grand Prize Winner), the Canada International Film Fest (Rising Star Award), LA Film & Script Fest (Best Comedy Feature), the California Independent Film Fest CAIFF (Best Screenplay & Slate Award), Austin Film Fest (Second Rounder), Rhode Island Film Fest RIFF (First Place), the International Horror Hotel Film Fest (Best Feature and Best Short), New York Screenplay (Park Ave Award Best Comedy), Indie Gathering Intl Film Fest (Best Thriller & Best Fam Feature), Roswell Intl Sci-Fi Fest (Grand Prize), Nashville Film Fest (Best Fam Short), Tennessee Screenwriters Assoc/Script.Com (Best Screenplay), Sundance Smashcut (Best Short), Soggy Mops (Best Short), Key West Film Fest (Best Screenplay), the Nashville Film Fest (Best Fam Short), the "Golden Ace Award" at Las Vegas International Film Fest, took two of the nine categories at the Chicago Screenplay Awards… and was finalist for this years Sundance Sloan Award. I was also personally selected winner at the UK Screenplay Fest by acclaimed Producer Robert Jones (Usual Suspects, Constant Gardener, etc), who still remains a great source of industry wisdom!
2016 I won Grand Jury Prize at the Nashville Film Fest with 5 script nominations!, I won Best Short at the Albuquerque Film Fest 2016, was Official Finalist (w/ 3 scripts in the top 10) at the Phoenix Film Fest 2016, received Best Short at Back in the Box/Feirnleif Prods, won both Gold & Diamond at the Calif Film Awards, made the finals of the coveted Emerging Screenwriters “Shoot My Short” filmmaking scheme, and made final cut at Circus Road Films and Screenplay Festival. I was also an Official Finalist at Manchester Intl Film Fest 2016 UK (Top 5), and at Pasadena Film Fest 2016.
Additional awards include: Richmond Intl, WorldFest Houston (REMI award), British Short (BAFTA), Page Awards, Table Read, Slamdance, Canadian Short, Script Pipeline, Fresh Voices (Best Concept & Pitch) and Beverly Hills Screenplay Awards.
As well as a handful of shorts sold and produced, I currently have a large slate of new feature comedy & thriller screenplay projects in development, both original and adapted, as well as novels I've personally optioned ...including an epic new sci-fi about a VERY different new iPod (Script Pipeline winner for Best New Movie Idea!)
I've been optioned by international Prod Co's (UK, LA, NY) including: Brillstein-Grey, Talking Lens, and Filmmedia, etc. I'm an alumni of Screenwriting and Film Production at SF State Univ Film School (under dean August Coppola, Francis Ford's brother) - and at UCLA (Screenwriting). And both a US/UK/EURO citizen.
