Biography

Suzanne Birrell is a writer and actress from small-town America, the only daughter in a house of boys where each grandparent had a unique ethnic identity. She studied scriptwriting at Webster University and Fullerton College. It was only after she was a protected witness in a murder trial for a serial killer, went on the road as a bass player, and then landed a job as a production manager in a theatre in Marin County, California, that she started writing scripts in earnest.

Suzanne teaches middle school (where children are wild and hormones rage), plays bass in a country band, and generally observes life as inspiration for her stories.

Because Suzanne came of age in the time before Roe vs. Wade in a house where women were expected to get married and have babies, and in her own life having experienced none of the promises that accompanied the lifestyle her parents had raised her for,  Suzanne tends to write empowering stories for women of all ages searching for a sense of self.
