Todd is a novelist, screenwriter, and Navy pilot living in San Diego. His debut thriller novel, "Looking Into the Sun", (published by Pandamoon Publishing) in February 2016 (author profit donated to Save the Children). His adapted thriller screenplay from his novel, titled THE SHATTERED SKY, was optioned in August 2016, ranked in the top 20% of the 2017 Nicholl Fellowship, and is currently in pre-production with Sleeperwave Films (Jimmy Keyrouz attached as director). His drama feature, THE KEEPER (Previously titled FOLLOW YOUR SHADOW), dealing with veteran suicide issues, was optioned by Bridge and Acorn Entertainment in August 2021, was shot on location along portions of the Appalachian Trail in September 2023, and is now in post-production (with a theatrical distribution date of May 2024). He recently optioned the rights to adapt the feature documentary, HELL OR HIGH SEAS, into a narrative feature about the true story of a former-U.S. Navy Rescue Swimmer who sailed around Cape Horn in a 25-foot sailboat. Todd is an alumnus of the (invite only) 2019, 2020, and 2021 Stowe Story Labs and is currently a fellow in the 2023-2024 season of the Writer's Guild Foundation Veteran Writers Project. He has amassed the following screenwriting accolades: - HOMEFRONT (one hour TV drama pilot - written with co-writer Denise Myers) was a finalist in the 2021 Sundance TV Development Fellowship competition and a semi-finalist in the 2022 WeScreenplay TV Contest. - SEARCHLIGHT (one hour TV drama pilot) was a semi-finalist in both the 2020 Emerging Screenwriters Genre Screenplay Competition and the Southern California Screenplay Competition -1000 PESOS (feature thriller - inspired by true events) achieved the Top 20% in the 2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship contest and was a Second Rounder in the 2020 Austin Film Festival and made semi-finalist in the 2020Southern California Screenplay Competition. - CURSIVE LINES (feature drama) achieved the Top 15% in the 2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship, was a Second Rounder in the 2020 Austin Film Festival, and was a semi-finalist in The Script Lab's 2020 Screenwriting Contest. - He has a Bachelor's degree in History from the US Naval Academy (1998) and a Master's degree in International Relations from Norwich University (2009), and a second master's degree in Cybersecurity from the National Defense University (2019).
