Born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, I am the oldest of
two brothers and one sister. I fell in love with movies at ten years of age. I have always loved the way films made me feel, whether happy, sad, joyful, inspired or frightened. I knew at a very young age I wanted to be a filmmaker. I have bought every filmmaking book on the market to help me learn the ropes of producing, directing, camera, and editing. I also have taken many courses to sharpen my filmmaking skills. Most importantly, I study films constantly, both old and contemporary, including behind-the-scenes features in which the film’s makers discuss their work. I have been influenced by films that touch the viewer intellectually, emotionally and spiritually, including the work of Orson Wells, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Spike Lee, Joaquin Baca-Asay and Sanaa Hamri, to name just a few. For the past two years I’ve been working at the Comcast Cable Public Access Television Studio in Middletown, Connecticut, doing directing, graphics, audio and sound for different television programs. I’ve also produced, directed and edited my own show, A Lyricist Showcase, which featured local poets, singers, authors and musicians.
