Emily Wahlund - Grand Prize Winning Writer
Emily is a writer, director, actor, and mom living in Los Angeles. Emily grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and received her B.F.A. in acting from Carnegie Mellon University. After moving to Los Angeles, she performed stand-up comedy for many years before moving on to The Groundlings. Upon graduating from the program, Emily realized that her true passion was creating dynamic characters and telling their stories. Emily has a diverse portfolio of comedies, thrillers, and horror. She aims to write character driven pieces with a strong focus on female voices. Her short film MOMMY has been an official selection at The California Women's Film Festival and the L.A. Women in Film Festival. Emily's other works have been recognized by The Nicholl's Fellowship, The Austin Film Festival, UCLA, BlueCat Screenplay Competition, WeScreenplay Competition and more.

Juanesta C. “Winnie” Holmes is a Director for sitcoms and episodic television. Juanesta launched her directing career on the hit Netflix series Family Reunion and following her directorial debut she has continued at the helm for several additional episodes. Other series she has directed include Netflix “The Upshaws,” CBS “The Neighborhood,” and Apple’s upcoming half-hour dramedy “Life With Ella.” A seasoned professional in the entertainment industry, Juanesta’s experience has contributed to her rising success as a director. Colleagues and crew members consistently describe Juanesta as warm and optimistic. Her thirty plus years in the television and film industry began as an intern at Paramount Studios. This led to a Production Assistant position in sitcoms. She diligently worked her way up to being an in-demand Script Supervisor on numerous television shows in comedies and dramas. As a Script Supervisor she has worked alongside numerous renowned directors such as, Debbie Allen, Mary Lou Belli, Hanelle Culpepper, Michael Cahill, Anthony Hemingway, Stan Lathan, Gina Prince-Bythewood, and Millicent Shelton to name a few.
