More about Lita & Amanda Lopez: Amanda - https://www.networkisa.org/profile/amanda-lopez I am passionate collector, and sharer of stories. As a professional listener, I've heard more than my share of true stories about defying potentially insurmountable odds, and clinging on to the sometimes foolish feeling of hope. I am most often a keeper of the light for others, at times, I hold it for them until they are able to grasp it again, move forward, and shine on. Whether my lived experiences, or those of family, friends, or a random stranger, I am continually inspired by stories of triumph, overcoming of unthinkable adversity, and the resiliency of the human spirit.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Dance/Movement Therapist turned Screenwriter, Author, and Professional Speaker based in Texas. I am undeniably passionate about sharing the stories of inspiring people and intriguing subcultures. I whole-heartedly believe in promoting the voices of historically marginalized and underrepresented populations. As the daughter of a Civil Rights Attorney, fighting for the underdog is in my DNA. My TV Series Pilot, THE WORK, written with my sister, Adelita Lopez, received Grand Prize Winner in the 2022 ISA Table Read My Screenplay competition.
I am the proud recipient of the Ector County Independent School District Counselor of the Year in 2017, LULAC/Hispanic Heritage of Odessa's Hispanic Educator of the Year in 2017, and Odessa Under 40 Honoree in 2019.
