It's been almost 10 years since The Event. Almost 10 years since this global phenomenon that changed everything we know about science, medicine, life in general. Almost 10 years since the last time a person died. We keep aging, we get hurt, we get sick. But we just won't die.
Obviously, none of this is news to you. But as we approach the double digit anniversary of immortality, it's been taking up a lot of my brain space. There's something about 10 years that makes it feel realer, somehow. Like, maybe it's not just a blip. Maybe this is just how it is. Forever.
And that's pretty fucking scary. Not to mention depressing. So I did what any depressed person would do... I made a podcast.
I started reaching out to people all over the world, from all ages and backgrounds. People with unique relationships to death and immortality. Looking for anyone who could help me answer the ultimate question: Does life still have meaning if it never ends?
And I heard back. I interviewed a painter, a drag queen, a rabbi, an author, a comedian, a former cult member, a CEO, and a porn star. Our conversations were hilarious, heartbreaking, and ultimately, hopeful. And now I'm going to share them with you. I'm your host Rowan Meyer, and this... is Deathless.
