EMILY WAHLUND Emily is a writer, director, actor, and mom living in Los Angeles. Emily grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and received her B.F.A. in acting from Carnegie Mellon University. After moving to Los Angeles, she performed stand-up comedy for many years before moving on to The Groundlings. Upon graduating from the program, Emily realized that her true passion was creating dynamic characters and telling their stories.
Emily has a diverse portfolio of comedies, thrillers, and horror. She aims to write character driven pieces with a strong focus on female voices. Her short film MOMMY has been an official selection at The California Women's Film Festival and the L.A. Women in Film Festival.
Emily's other works have been recognized by The Nicholl's Fellowship, The Austin Film Festival, UCLA, BlueCat Screenplay Competition, WeScreenplay Competition and more.
When Emily is not writing she spends every waking moment with her children -- Collin and Daphne. They are her world.
