An in-depth review of your story's 3rd/Final Act The main differences between a feature's and Pilot's final act Understand the importance of delivering your story While it could be rather obvious, your 3rd and Final Act of your story - whether it's a feature or an episode of TV - is critical. Why is it critical? Imagine a joke with only a set up, or a story that goes on and on and never gets to the point. Or imagine a story that just flatlines without any emotional resonance, and never pays off the character's personal journey. There could be even more examples of how a 3rd Act presents itself as critical, and yet we all inherently know that we, as storytellers, need to deliver a strong final act. The problem that we see, though, with a lot of screenplays is that a writer spends an immense amount of effort presenting the set-up to an idea, but doesn't spend the time delivering its pay-off.
In this webinar, our Director of Education and VP of Development with Creative Screenwriter Prods, Max Timm, will go through all of the reasons why your 3rd and Final Act is so important, but also how we can all understand that the final act is so intimately tied to the previous acts. More importantly, he will go over how you can use your 3rd Act as a brainstorming tool, even when you don't know exactly how your story will end.
There will be a lot covered in this webinar as usual, and Max will answer as many questions as possible. Please make sure to attend the webinar if you register in spite of the recording being made available once we're done. It will only be available to Basic members for one week (Connect members forever), so register. And if you don't register at all, you won't receive the notification as to when the recording is available. So...show up. Get ready to get your learning on. And we'll see you then.Join us for Your Final Act - ISA Connect Webinar w/ Max Timm
