Writing Screenplay Dialogue - a Writing Tip from Scott Markus of the ISA

International Screenwriters' Association 1 year ago

Everyone wants to write memorable dialogue in their screenplay, but there's no formula for that. Here's one approach from ISA staffer Scott Markus. He references the link below in his video... 100 Things to know about your character: https://www.miniworld.com/adnd/100ThingsAboutUrPCBackGround.html About Scott: Scott Markus has been working in various aspects of film and television production since 1997.  His work has taken him across America while working on set for “Lost,” “The Dark Knight,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Stranger Than Fiction” and many more, filling roles ranging from production assistant to assistant director and director of photography. Markus is also a published author, writing a historical/paranormal book about Chicago called “Voices from the Chicago Grave.”  His work in both production and the paranormal includes two documentaries on the unexplained, running the website WhatsYourGhostStory.com, co-hosting and producing a radio show and being interviewed multiple times for Travel Channel's “Mysteries at the Monument.” Markus currently has interest in developing original content for the web & TV while continuing to enjoy work as an editor, camera op and drone camera op.  He’s very proud of his work for the International Screenwriters’ Association, where he works to try to connect writers to film festivals, teachers & consultants.  He, along with longtime friend and fellow ISA staffer, Max Timm, host the podcast "The Fantastic Story Society."   For the ISA, he also covers festivals like Austin, SXSW, Sundance & Tribeca as a journalist.
