Denise Cruz-Castino is a Latinx writer whose first feature, 5 Weddings premiered at Cannes in 2018, co-stars Bo Derek and Candy Clark, and played in 52 countries. She’s currently got a family comedy she’s written with her partner John Harrington with Josephson Entertainment attached as producers and Miranda Bailey as the director. She’s also recently written animated children’s horror shorts for DreamworksTV YouTube channel’s series Spine Chilling Stories. She sold a live action short, The Fountain, to Disney, her horror short, Imaginary Friends, was produced by Raving Eejit Entertainment, and her comedy short, Things Look Grim, was produced by Sasha Golberg. Her blog that helps newbie screenwriters, screenwriterwriting.blogspot, was named Website of the Week by Script Magazine. Her scripts have placed in Final Draft Big Break, Fade-In Screenwriting and Nicholl’s Fellowship contests.
