LA based production company with legitimate track record seeking television-type Thrillers.
Story should be contained to a small handful of locations with the majority taking place at a single location (farm, house, office building, motel, etc).
Main character must be a female who survives at the end. This is a television thriller not a horror movie so no gore or heavy blood, etc. And NO science fiction. Additional guidelines include:
3-Act Structure: Major inciting incident on pages 15-20.
Script Length: 88-95 pages.
Opening: Cold open with a death is preferred but not required.
Pacing: Fast-paced opening (no slow build up in the first 5-15 minutes).
Back story: Minimal; focus on present actions, not past events.
Source Material:
Preferably tied to a real-life news article (1-5% similarity).
Include link/attachment of the news article.
Use minor elements (e.g., name, location, incident).
Ending: Hero must win; villain must be killed or arrested. Justice must prevail.
Scenes: Balance indoor/outdoor and daytime/nighttime settings.
Prohibited Elements:
No suicide.
No gun violence where bullets hit targets (shooting allowed if they miss).
No mental illness
Money cannot be the villain’s primary motivation.
No holiday-centric stories.
Project is fully financed, for 2025 production. Writers / script fee is a line item in the budget and writer will be paid accordingly. Credit and perks to be negotiated in good faith as per standard.
